Our family safari, also known as our signature safari, has been carefully designed to balance wildlife encounters, cultural immersion, and recreational activities so that every member of the family remains active and engaged throughout the journey.
You will experience the extraordinary wildlife of Tarangire, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater, observing Africa’s iconic species in their natural habitats. Alongside game drives, you’ll engage in meaningful cultural exchanges with the Hadzabe Bushmen and the Datooga tribe, learning firsthand about their traditions and way of life.

Detailed Itinerary

Swimming Kikuletwa Hot Spring
Upon arrival at JRO, you will meet your safari guide, who will pick you up for the day trip to Kikuletwa Hot Spring, also known as Maji Moto. This little piece of heaven is between Arusha and Moshi and is the perfect place to relax and find tranquility after a long flight. Once there, you can take a walk, swim in the warm water, or mingle with locals.

Mt. Meru Game Lodge
Mount Meru Game Lodge & Wildlife Sanctuary is the lodge designed for both wildlife and nature lovers. The game sanctuary was established to offer refuge to orphaned and injured animals and to prepare them for their return to the wild. The lodge has 15 double or twin ensuite bedrooms and family suites.

Materuni Waterfalls hike + Coffee Tour & Local Lunch
You will drive to the Kilimanjaro region for a day of activities. Upon arrival at the village, you will go for the hiking adventure to the waterfalls that take about 45min-1hr one way, followed by a hot local lunch before embarking for a coffee plantation tour to learn about Tanzania’s Arabica coffee. Enjoy cooking coffee in an outdoor fire, pound it and finally make a cup of coffee for yourself.

Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park has the highest concentration of elephants in Northern Tanzania. You will witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you observe exotic mammals such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and various types of antelopes such as gazelles. If you’re a birdwatcher, then Tarangire is a paradise with over 550 species, including the Maasai Ostrich, the world’s largest bird.

Manyara’s Secret
Manyara’s Secret is a boutique lodge with personal attention and exquisite service. This exclusive lodge is located at the edge of Lake Manyara National Park with stunning views of Lake Manyara. Manyara’s Secret has eight villas that can accommodate couples, families, and small groups.

Walking Safari + Lake Manyara Game Drive
Today, you will set off to Lake Manyara nested on the edge of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment for a walking safari followed by a game drive. Lake Manyara is known for its year-round greenery, attracting migratory birds and featuring a variety of wildlife such as baboons, velvet & blue monkeys, hippos, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elephants, warthogs and many more!

The singing Grass Bush Camp
With just 10 luxury safari tents, The Singing Grass Camp ensures each guest has an intimate experience of the wild Serengeti. At the end of the night, retreat to your tent tucked among a private patch of the savannah. Sink into your plush bed and fall asleep to the songs of birds, cicadas, grasshoppers, and wild animals roaming the bush.

Final Game Drive in Serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater Rim Walking Safari
Today we set off on a final game drive in Serengeti with a packed lunch, providing more opportunities to capture heart-stopping photos. Later, you will set off to Ngorongoro for an hour walking safari on the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Walking safari is a great way to get out of the car without committing to a serious trek.

Ngorongoro Farm House
This is a midrange exclusive hotel built on a 500 acres coffee farm nested in a beautiful woodland area located 4km from Ngorongoro Conservation Area entrance. The hotel is designed to take you to the comfort and style of the past with 48 cottage rooms at ground level with a private terrace or balcony overlooking the gardens and/or coffee plantation.

Meet Hadzabe the Bushmen & Datoga Tribe
You will leave the lodge early in the morning to meet the Hadzabe Bushmen, the last hunters and gatherers society in Africa. Participate in their activities such as hunting, fruit gathering, and making a campfire. Later on, you will meet the Datoga tribe, traditional pastoralists who farm maize, beans, and millet. Visit the Datoga blacksmith and watch him forge knives and jewelry for the Bushmen.

Ngorongoro Farm House

Ngorongoro Crater Tour
The Ngorongoro Crater, which is only 10 miles wide, was formed around three million years ago when a volcano collapsed. It is the world’s largest volcano caldera and is home to over 25,000 resident animals, making it a unique ecosystem. In the grass steppes and acacia forest, you can spot almost every animal in the East African savanna, including the African “Big Five”.

Today, enjoy a leisurely morning with breakfast and a hot lunch at your beautiful lodge before driving to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home. It’s an emotional farewell, but one filled with the hope of welcoming you back again soon.
